EARLY DETECTION (TRIAD) METHODS: VBCF’S POSITION

While recognizing the limitations of current earlier breast cancer detection methods, and until more effective and affordable methods are available, VBCF encourages individuals to continue to have regular clinical breast examinations performed by a healthcare professional; to have regular screening mammograms; and to report any self-discovered breast changes found during breast self-exam. VBCF supports consumer education about breast health that leads to informed healthcare decisions. VBCF is committed to working aggressively for further research on prevention, early detection, treatment - and a CURE for breast cancer.
