Speakers

Keynote Speaker - Elizabeth Heiskell

This year’s keynote speaker is Elizabeth Heiskell. Heiskell lives in Oxford, Mississippi where she and her husband are raising three beautiful girls. There she also maintains her catering company, Elizabeth Heiskell Catering, which is in its 22nd year. Elizabeth was head chef at Viking Range Corporation for 8 years where she added fun and vitality to all of her cooking classes. Now she is The Today Show Food Contributor and has done appearances on Food Network’s The Kitchen and on Chopped as a judge. Elizabeth is a Southern Living contributing editor. She is the author of three best-selling cookbooks "What Can I Bring", "The Southern Living Party Cookbook" and "Come On Over". Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022.

Local Speaker - Kylie Harvell

Local Speaker: Kylie Harvell was diagnosed with HER2+ Breast Cancer in 2019 and is coming up on her fourth-year cancer free. Being diagnosed at 29 years old, she became very aware that she needed to share her story to advocate for other women and men going through this awful disease. After surgery when Kylie was healing and starting her cancer treatment plan, she unexpectedly found out that she was pregnant and that her story wasn't finished yet; it was just the beginning. She continues to advocate and spread awareness through her own business, Story of Mine Designs, as she makes custom (breast) cancer drinkware to provide comfort and strength for others fighting the fight. Kylie lives in Roanoke with her husband, Jessy, of nearly 7 years and her son Story, who turns 3 this August.
