At VBCF, we focus on breast cancer awareness in Virginia every day… every week… and every month, but we also understand the need to have a time for all to come together and raise the awareness even more.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month Calendar
VBCF publishes a statewide calendar full of activities, educational opportunities, and events held by many different organizations, but all focused at raising awareness of breast cancer issues during the month of October.
We hope that you will have an opportunity to participate in some of the planned activities and will help spread the word. We also hope that you will help educate and advocate for breast cancer issues, by whatever means possible — in your family, your neighborhood, your workplace, your faith community, and anywhere else you happen to be.
Pink Ribbon Campaign
While VBCF believes breast cancer is more than a pink ribbon, we embrace this symbol in our efforts to educate Virginians on the facts about breast cancer, to inform legislators about the need for improved public policies, and to establish the end of breast cancer as a state and national priority.
Our pink ribbons are attached to a bilingual English/Spanish education card with early detection recommendations, and contact information for those who need help with the cost of their annual mammogram. Last year VBCF distributed nearly 90,000 pink ribbons throughout the state of Virginia.
