Power of Pink Luncheon

The Power of Pink Luncheon took place on Monday, October 3 in Roanoke.  The Second Annual Luncheon was a huge success -raising funds and awareness for the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation.  It was sponsored by Blue Ridge Cancer Care, Kroger, Berglund Cars, Branch Group, Fink’s Jewelers and Boxley.  We are so appreciative of all our sponsors

We were so happy to gather in person this year at the Hotel Roanoke with over 300 women and men in attendance. The Luncheon was chaired by Julie Boxley, Kelly Farber, Janet Frantz, Justine Jones and Ann Blair Miller. The Power of Pink Luncheon raised over $106,000 to support our mission to eradicate breast cancer including the SWVA Screening and Diagnostic Service Fund to provide mammograms, biopsies, ultrasounds and MRIs to uninsured and underinsured Virginians.

We were thrilled to have VBCF Board Member and breast cancer survivor, Tara Nepper, share her story.  Tara spoke about her breast cancer journey including how it impacted her and her family.  It was an incredibly moving and powerful talk.  ESPN Reporter, Shelley Smith also shared her cancer experience. The event also included a mobile auction and Unlock the Cure, a raffle to win gorgeous earrings from Fink’s Jewelers.

Thank you to everyone that attended and supported the Luncheon!
